In February of 2002,Okaloosa Island Fire District
moved into the Okaloosa Island Public Safety Center located at:

This building was an upgrade from the previous structure located behind the station. The new structure allowed for drive through apparatus bays and individual sleeping quarters as well as many other modern features the old original building did not have. The building also created office space for several Okaloosa County agencies, including Emergency Medical Services (EMS) who operate an ambulance (Medic 9) out of our station. More importantly however, this modern station also has created a increased community presence by allowing us to be located on the “Boulevard” with direct access to the public of which we serve.
