The Okaloosa Island Fire District would like to advise we are currently in the path of Hurricane Michael.  For your convience, we have listed the Okaloosa County hurricane guide and the website.  Please read the evacuation proceedures and flooding zones.  Hurrican Michael is expected to hit land fall on Wednesday, October 10th approximately at 1:00 PM (CST).  A hurricane warning is posted for the Florida Gulf coast from the Alabama/Floirda boarder to Suwanee River, Florida, including Pensacola, Panama City and Tallahassee.  The hurricane warning also extends indland to southwestern Georgia, including Albany.  Hurricane warnings are issued 36 hours before the anticipated arrival of tropical-storm-force winds (39 plus miles per hour), which is when outside preparations become dangerous.
